ABOUT THE AMP YOUTH CHOIRS
The AMP Youth Choirs are the most advanced vocal ensembles at AMP and are designed for young musicians who are already proficient singers.
Performing both standard choral music and songs representing the culture of the communities we serve, it is our goal for the AMP Youth Choirs to become one of the top youth choir programs in the country.
The AMP Youth Choirs consist of two ensembles: the Junior Youth Choir and the Senior Youth Choir.
Young musicians in grades 6th – 8th should apply to audition for Junior Youth Choir. Young musicians in grades 9th – 12th with less than one year of choral experience should also apply to audition for Junior Youth Choir. If a 9th – 12th grader with less than one year of choral experience is eager for a fast-paced music environment and is comfortable with the Senior Youth Choir audition materials, they may audition for the Senior Youth Choir using the Senior Youth Choir Audition Requirements.
Young musicians in grades 9th – 12th graders with one or more years of choral experience should apply to audition for the Senior Youth Choir. Young musicians in grades 9th – 12th who are not comfortable with the Senior Youth Choir audition materials or have limited choral singing experience may audition for the Junior Youth Choir using the Junior Youth Choir Audition Requirements. 9th – 12th graders who audition for the Senior Youth Choir but are not placed in the Senior Youth Choir may be offered the opportunity to perform with the Junior Youth Choir.
AUDITION INFORMATION
Auditions will be held on the following dates at the AMP Center:
August 26 - August 30, 2024

REHEARSAL & CONCERT SCHEDULE
All AMP Youth Choirs students attend two (2) rehearsals per week:
Junior Youth Choir: Wednesdays (6:30pm - 8:00pm) & Saturdays (9:00am - 11:00am)
Senior Youth Choir: Wednesdays (6:30pm - 8:30pm) & Saturdays (9:00am - 11:00am)
During the AMP Youth Choirs season, there are three major concerts students must participate in. These concerts take place on the following dates:
Holiday Concert: December 7, 2024
Music of the African Diaspora Concert: March 1, 2025
Youth Choirs & Youth Orchestras Joint Spring Concert: May 3, 2025
TUITION
All students receive a full scholarship covering tuition.
REGISTRATION FEE
AFTER acceptance into the program, each student will have to pay a $25 non-refundable registration fee ($10 for each additional sibling) per school year. Before completing your registration, you will be asked to pay the registration fee. Payment plans are available. Please note: No student will be turned away due to financial hardship.
