2026-2027 AMP After School Orchestras at South Bend Center for Arts and Culture

Hello and welcome to After School Orchestras at South Bend!

The After School Orchestra program is in collaboration with the City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation office. Students who participate in this program receive music instruction, a hot meal, a snack, and homework tutoring. 

Class takes place at South Bend Recreation Center: 

1955 Compton Dr SE, Atlanta, GA 30315

Instrument instruction is offered by location:

          Perkerson Park: violin

          South Bend 3rd & Up : clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone

          South Bend K-2nd: Choir & General Music 

Students will be divided into 2 ensembles:

Wind Ensemble: Students in the third grade and up will participate in instrumental music instruction on flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone

General Music: Students in Kindergarten through second grade will participate in an choral ensemble on Tuesdays, and general music on Wednesdays and Thursdays which teach the basic fundamentals of reading and understanding music

Classes are from 4pm-6pm on Tuesday - Thursday 

Students must be able to commit to attending all Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday classes in order to keep up with class material.

There is a weekly fee of $35 on a sliding scale based on income paid to City of Atlanta. Siblings are $15. CAPS eligible families are free. Transportation is provided from schools in the area on a limited basis.

Students will have concerts on:

Holiday Concert: November 19, 2026

African Diaspora Concert: March 4, 2027

Spring Concert: April 29, 2027
