ABOUT THE AMP YOUTH ORCHESTRAS
The AMP Youth Orchestras are the most advanced instrumental ensembles at AMP and are designed for young musicians in middle and high school who are already experienced performers.
Performing both standard symphonic music and musical genres representing the culture of the communities we serve, it is our goal for the AMP Youth Orchestras to become one of the top youth training orchestra programs in the country.
The AMP Youth Orchestras consist of three ensembles: Junior Youth Orchestra I, Junior Youth Orchestra II, and Senior Youth Orchestra.
All ensembles include: violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, french horn, tuba, orchestral percussion.
Junior Youth Orchestra I is for beginner to early intermediate players, Music Level 1 - 2.
Junior Youth Orchestra II is for intermediate to advanced players, Music Level 2 - 4.
Senior Youth Orchestra is designed for advanced players, Music Level 4 - 6.
AUDITION INFORMATION
Audition will be held on the following dates. All auditions will take place at the AMP Center for Performance & Education located at 883 Dill Ave SW, Atlanta, GA 30310.

After completing the audition application, you will be emailed information on how to select an audition day and time. Please click here to review the audition requirements. Please note: All students will be required to play all listed scales, technical and lyrical excerpts, as well as one sightreading excerpt.
REHEARSAL & CONCERT SCHEDULE
All AMP Youth Orchestra students attend two (2) rehearsals per week:
Junior Youth Orchestra I:
Monday: 6:30PM - 8:00PM
Saturday: 9:00AM - 11:00AM
Junior Youth Orchestra II:
Thursday: 6:30PM - 8:00PM
Saturday: 9:00AM - 11:00AM
Senior Youth Orchestra:
Tuesday: 6:30PM - 8:30PM
Saturdays: 11:30AM - 1:30PM
During the AMP Youth Orchestras season, there are three major concerts students must participate in. These concerts will be held in November 2026, February 2027, and April 2027.
TUITION
All students receive a full scholarship covering tuition.
REGISTRATION FEE
AFTER acceptance into the program, each student will have to pay a $50 non-refundable registration fee ($10 for each additional sibling) per school year. Before completing your registration, you will be asked to pay the registration fee. Payment plans are available. Please note: No student will be turned away due to financial hardship.
